Open letter to Rep. Chris Smith

Redefining Rape?!

Congressman,
Murder is the foulest of all offenses, yet we at times find mitigating circumstances and we find the foulest of them all justifiable. Rape, however, can not be deemed justifiable or excusable under any circumstances.

Sir, You have failed and defiled the American Constitution by joining the interests of the church with those of the state. You have failed your constituents, who are women or men who have mothers, sisters, and daughters; and you have failed yourself, the author of Public Law 106-386.

Many tax payers pay for government spending that they do not support. That is Democracy. Your bill suggests that tax payers can selectively fund issues that coincide with their private religious beliefs. Americans are a peaceful folk but will support war with their tax dollars because that is the covenant we agreed to in our Constitution.

Men need to recuse themselves from discussions and decisions that affect women only; it would be ethical. Should you be successful in this hateful and un-American endeavor you will have proved that God is either dead, or never existed, and that you are a misogynist.
Shame on you!

Thank you Amnon, for being an evolved male. Is this the Congressman from Kansas who was discussing ‘legitimate rape’?
